Hello Loves! Happy weekend! I hope you all are enjoying this weekend no matter where you are. Today was a very pleasant day, spent with my parents and Maw Maw, of course little babe was with me, too! We went to Ponchatoula, a small town in south Louisiana, (only about a 45 minute drive for me) for a rummage sale. Even though it was a very warm day, I always enjoy strolling through antique stores and cute little boutiques in the strawberry capital of Louisiana.

There was this unique little place called The Nest. They had pretty home decor and unique little bird houses everywhere that had license plate roves. And here are some hand towels showing a little bit of Louisiana to ya.^^^

We also went to this huge antique store, more like its own antique outlet mall (a well visited family favorite). You can find all kinds of unique things here. It’s definitely one you will spend a while rummaging through because there is always so much stuff!

This little place had lots of things all cluttered up everywhere, but they were all so nicely displayed. I liked looking at all of the cool vintage cameras they had.

I went home with this funky little tea pot. I’ve been in search of one for a while now and this one was nicely priced and cheaper than what I’ve seen in regular stores. Plus who doesn’t want a tea pot with a cute, vintage 1970s decoration on it (complete with a whistler)?

I love antique shopping and for this rummage sale they had a lot of good deals going on in town. I love looking through so many unique things that can be reused or repurposed in a place of your own! I also went home with lots of presents for Rhys from his grandparents and great grandma, and a comfy dress that’s good for mom on the go (courtesy of my Dad).

Sometimes recycling goods for your home is such a better way to go! You can turn something funky into something so perfectly unique to fit your lifestyle without breaking the bank. I love DIY upscaling and repurposing and even though this little tea pot will be used as such, I have a find that I will be redoing and may share on here with y’all in a future post!

Do y’all like antique shopping, or repurposing cool finds??

X’s & O’s

  2. I love Louisiana and I love antique stores. This would have been fun. Although, the heat would have been hard on my Western Oregon body. We’re a tad wimpy out here.

Excellent pictures. Thank you for sharing.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed reading and so happy you’re a fellow lover of LA and antique-ing! Yes, this Louisiana heat is definitely not for the faint hearted. I’ve never been to Oregon, but my husband has cousins who live there and it looks beautiful. I would l or to visit one day, especially to escape this weather!

  3. Oh I love shopping antiques! Wish I had an apartment atm that I could buy some things for (I’m pretty much living in two different countries and it makes it so hard to find a place that feels like home). I followed your blog! Really like the things you write about 🙂 I’m a food, outdoor and lifestyle blogger. Feel free to check out my blog.
